The Frontline

The Frontline, as most underground-lovers know, is a "free" concert club in Ghent where tons of gigs take place and that has been around since about 1985. At that time Christine was running the bar, it changed 2 times from location before the Frontline found a home at the St-Pietersnieuwstraat. From then on there were often gigs, in the beginning it were free gigs, but after a while, bigger bands appealed on the stage and asking entrancemoney wasn't enevitable. At the end of 2001 the brewer stopped his contract with The Frontline. Christine and Alain decided to step back after 15 years.

The Frontline moved first to a corner location in the Overpoortstraat and a year and a half later (june 2003) to the present location also in the Overpoortstraat.

The Frontline has become also a underground club for electronical music like dubstep, D&B, breakcore, raga, jungle,...
